Dansette Major Deluxe red/white c.1963

Description

A superb example of a fully restored Dansette Major Deluxe from about 1963. It has the original red covering, matched with a refurbished off-white colour and looks very smart. Cleaned inside and out, and fitted with a new 3 core cable and a 3amp fuse. The amplifer has been checked and all of the capacitors have been replaced. All the brass catches and hinges are originals except for the handle clasps which are exact reproductions.
The BSR UA15 turntable has been cleaned and re-greased and works at all speeds with the auto-change, which is in very good condition. It’s fitted with a new high output turnover SX6H crystal cartridge which gives good volume and is wired for stereo to mono, so it’s safe to play stereo records without any damage, as well as 45s and 78s.

These models aren’t really suitable for legs as the bottom is made of hardboard, so reinforcement blocks would have to be fitted on the inside.
