Description

A superb example of a Dansette Conquest Auto from about 1960. With original red and cream rexine covering which has only been cleaned and slightly repaired. Cleaned inside and out with a new cable fitted with a 3amp fuse. The internal electrics have been checked and replaced where necessary. The brass catches and hinges are all original, just the strap clasps have been replaced. The front knobs have new brass trim with new reproduction labels. The BSR UA14 turntable has been cleaned and re-greased and works at all 4 speeds with the auto-changer and has the original instruction sheet. It’s fitted with a new high output turnover ceramic Ronette cartridge which gives good volume and is wired for stereo to mono, so it’s safe to play stereo records as well as 78s without any damage. The original speaker grill was torn, so it’s been replaced with a speaker covering that perfectly compliments the brass elements of the front. The are two 7″ x 5″ speakers which gives a much better bass response that other Dansettes. This was the top of the range in its day.
A couple of small marks here and there, but as it’s the original covering, you would expect a few for a player that’s over 60 years old. The old stereo output at the back has been disconnected.
Complete with the very rare original box! It has a delivery label, but sadly no date.
